Chris Lu is the James R. Schlesinger Distinguished Professor at the University of Virginia Miller Center. During the Biden Administration, he served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations for Management and Reform. During the Obama Administration, Chris served as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Labor and White House Cabinet Secretary, after serving as Executive Director of the 2008 Obama-Biden presidential transition. Earlier, he served as: Legislative Director and Acting Chief of Staff for then-Senator Obama; Deputy Chief Counsel of the House Oversight Committee; and a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
